- FMG Health Sciences evaluated the Mitozz RS epicatechin formula in 18 participants over two months.
- The serum contained 98% pure (−)-epicatechin.
- Wrinkles on the back of the hand became lower, shallower, and smoother.
- Facial analysis showed improvements in overall wrinkle amplitude and surface roughness.
Before-and-after photographs can show how skin looks, but photographs alone cannot objectively measure changes in wrinkles or texture. Lighting, positioning, hydration, and facial expression can all affect appearance.
FMG Health Sciences therefore used close-up photography, three-dimensional surface mapping, and numerical analysis to evaluate the formula developed for Mitozz RS.
The serum contained 98% pure (−)-epicatechin, with the epicatechin ingredient making up 1% of the total formula.
Eighteen participants applied the serum twice daily during a two-month evaluation that included a placebo comparison. Researchers examined both facial skin and the back of the hand.
The study found measurable improvements in several characteristics associated with wrinkles and uneven skin texture.
What the Study Images Show
Representative close-up images from the FMG study showing the back of the hand at baseline, after placebo, and after use of the epicatechin serum. Images represent individual examples from the 18-participant evaluation.

Epicatechin Serum
The study photographs provide a visual example of the changes measured during the evaluation. In the epicatechin-serum images, several lines appear less pronounced and the skin surface appears smoother.
The photographs were not evaluated only by visual inspection. Researchers converted the close-up images into measurable surface data.
How the Skin Was Measured
Fiji imaging software was used to convert the photographs into three-dimensional surface maps. These maps showed the peaks, valleys, and irregularities that form wrinkles and visible skin texture.
The images were then analyzed numerically with Gwyddion software using measurements based on the ISO 4287/2000 surface-analysis standard. The analysis included all 18 participants.

The study measured:
- maximum wrinkle height
- wrinkle depth
- total wrinkle amplitude
- surface roughness
- average roughness across the measured area
Together, these measurements showed whether wrinkles became lower, shallower, less pronounced, and smoother.
Clear Improvements on the Back of the Hand
The strongest and most consistent results were measured on the back of the hand.
After use of the epicatechin serum:
- Image 1: Maximum wrinkle height decreased by approximately 15%
- Image 2: Wrinkle depth decreased by approximately 9%
- Image 3: Total wrinkle amplitude decreased by approximately 11%
- Image 4: Surface roughness decreased by approximately 11%
The reductions were statistically significant, with reported p-values of 0.0082 for wrinkle height, 0.0010 for depth, 0.0068 for amplitude, and 0.0368 for roughness.
The placebo did not produce the same pattern. Its changes were not statistically significant, and surface roughness increased rather than decreased.
Taken together, the images and numerical measurements show that the wrinkles became lower, shallower, less pronounced, and smoother after use of the epicatechin serum.
Facial Skin Also Became Smoother
The facial analysis showed a similar overall pattern, with the clearest improvements seen in total wrinkle amplitude and surface roughness.
After use of the epicatechin serum, researchers measured:
- Reduced total wrinkle amplitude
- Reduced overall surface roughness
- Reduced average roughness across the analyzed areas
Maximum wrinkle height and depth also moved in the direction of improvement, although those individual changes were less pronounced.
The placebo did not produce statistically significant improvements in the facial measurements.

Why the Placebo Comparison Matters
A cosmetic serum base can influence how skin looks and feels even without the active ingredient. Humectants and conditioning agents can increase surface hydration, soften the skin, and temporarily make fine lines appear less noticeable. Including a placebo helped FMG compare those general effects with the results produced by the formula containing high-purity (−)-epicatechin.
The placebo did not show the same repeated reductions in wrinkle height, depth, amplitude, and roughness.
The epicatechin serum produced a more consistent pattern of improvement across both hand and facial measurements. This supports the conclusion that the high-purity (−)-epicatechin formula contributed meaningfully to the measured results.
What the Study Means for Mitozz RS
Mitozz RS was developed as a topical cosmetic serum containing 98% pure (−)-epicatechin. It also contains ingredients selected to support skin hydration, conditioning, and daily cosmetic care.
After two months of twice-daily use, the study found:
- lower and shallower wrinkles on the hand
- reduced wrinkle amplitude
- smoother hand and facial skin measurements
- reduced surface roughness
- a pattern of improvement not observed with placebo
The study included 18 participants, so individual results can vary. Even so, the consistency of the improvements across several objective measurements is encouraging.
The findings provide direct product-development evidence supporting the use of Mitozz RS to help improve the appearance of fine lines and support smoother-looking skin.
Mitozz RS was not developed from cosmetic theory alone. Its formula was evaluated using three-dimensional imaging and numerical surface analysis, with measurable improvements observed in both hand and facial skin.
